On the 22nd of August, the North Sydney Girls SRC held their annual Mocktail Night for senior students and NSG alumni. It was a fantastic opportunity to network and learn about various careers and experiences beyond high school! 

We were privileged to hear from two keynote speakers, Sarah Yap, a registered Architect at EM BE CE who was awarded the prestigious Architect Medallion in 2019, and Dr Annika van Hummel, a Research Fellow at Macquarie University with a PhD in osteoarthritis research. They both gave amazing insight into life after high school and the importance of exploring different opportunities and taking risks. 

We also heard from three key panellists - Rashie Kase (actor and writer), Margery Ai (freelance writer/copy editor, studying Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy) and Patty Huang (Senior Investment Associate at Octopus Investments) - who engaged in a meaningful live Q&A session with discussions on important advice, experiences and mindsets for what is to come after high school. 

Finally, after the discussion panel, students got the opportunity to talk with alumni over food and mocktails. Overall, we hope Mocktail Night was a productive night full of inspiring conversations for everyone who attended! 

A massive thank you to the alumni for taking the time to come, Mr Starrett (our SRC coordinator), the SRC council of 2023-2024 for preparing the mocktails, the canteen for catering, and everyone else who helped to make the event successful!
